Baptism

- Older Children and Adults: Those who have reached the age of reason (about seven years or older) typically prepare through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) or OCIA for Children.
The Baptismal Rite
During the Baptismal ceremony, the candidate is:
- Anointed with sacred oils
- Baptized with water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
- Clothed in a white garment, symbolizing new life in Christ
- Given a baptismal candle, representing the light of Christ
